![]() New Website Launched for Maine McDonald's® High School Senior All-Star Basketball GamesThe Maine McDonald's® High School Senior All-Star Basketball Games is announcing the launch of its first ever website, www.mainemcdonaldsbasketball.org. In addition to providing information about the upcoming All-Star Games and Awards Banquet, the interactive website allows players to upload stats and purchase banquet tickets. In the News section, members of the media can sign up to be the first to receive news releases and game scores, and all visitors to the site can post inquiries and receive quick responses. In addition, information on the site is constantly being updated to keep players, coaches and families informed about upcoming events such as game schedules, news conferences and practice schedules.“Our new website creates an interactive experience for the players by utilizing social networking components,” notes McDonald’s Owner/Operator Ron Lydick of Falmouth. “It also makes the All-Star Games a more eco-friendly event by eliminating about 90 percent of the paperwork of past years.” Visitors to the site can follow links to event sponsors including McDonald’s of Maine, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine, the recipient of net proceeds from the Games. Future plans include establishing links to media coverage. “Overall, we are thrilled with this new website that modernizes the Maine McDonald’s All-Star Games on every level,” states Lydick. A Maine McDonald’s All-Star Games Facebook page has also been posted where fans of the Games can network, creating an opportunity to interact with others associated with the Games. Players and their families and friends are welcome to join. The 2009 Maine McDonald’s All-Star Weekend will be held March 13 and 14 at the Newman Gymnasium on the campus of Husson University in Bangor, Maine. The Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All-Star Basketball Games is a salute to top senior student-athletes basketball standouts and coaches from across Maine. More than 100 individuals are honored for their achievements both on and off the basketball court at the All-Star Banquet on Friday night, March 13, and at the Games on Saturday, March 14. Net proceeds from the two-day event go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Maine. The 2009 program marks McDonald’s twenty-first consecutive year as lead sponsor of this hallmark event. In addition to underwriting the cost of planning and executing the event, the Maine McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association, a collaboration of 14 local Maine McDonald’s franchisees, works hand-in-hand with the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches and several sponsors to make the event possible.
